The COP Cup league is a 2-person scramble league that lasts 8 months. The first 7 months are played as regular season rounds, and the 8th round is the COP Cup Championship.
Using the "Course Schedule" page, teams play the course assigned to that month. Scores submitted for a different course other than the one that is assigned for that month will not be accepted.
Each course has a 45-day window to be played. This window begins on the 1st of each month and ends on the 15th of the following month.
After teams have submitted their scorecards for a given month, their score will be awarded "Stableford" points. These points will accumulate through the first 7 rounds of the season, leading to ranking on a season leaderboard.
After the 7th round, the teams with the most points will be awarded a stroke advantage for the COP Cup Championship.
Be careful though! Only the top 20 teams in season points will be qualified to play in the COP Cup Championship. If a team that HAS qualified cannot attend, their spot will be offered to the next team with the higher season point total.
You may register for the COP Cup league after registration has been announced as OPEN and before April 1st. Go to the "Register" page of this website for more info about how to register.
The COP Cup will not charge any registration fees during the 2025 season.
Teams will be responsible for paying any expenses relating to their rounds of golf each month.
No, you do not need a partner to play, although one would make it alot easier! If you cannot find a partner, you can either play as a solo-player or ask to be paired with someone. However, it cannot be guarenteed that there will be another solo-player looking for a partner.
Teams, in the simplest of terms, play whenever they can. There is no requirement to play with other teams or at a specific time. We all know how tough it can be to get our police schedules to line up!
All you need to do is make a tee-time at the assigned golf course for that month and play! You are a regular customer of the golf course at that point.
Be sure to submit your scorecard after you finish your round!
Each team is responsible for any expenses related to their round of golf.
If you are unable to play a round at a certain course prior to the 15th of the following month, you will unfortunately have to take a "Did Not Play" (DNP). A DNP does not award any points and your team will have a "0" for that month.
The COP Cup Championship is the only round each year where every team that qualifies plays at the same time. The host course will assign tee-times based on season rankings. Teams may be responsible for greens-fees, however, that has not always been the case.
